Catering
Not all events will require catering, but those that do will need to make sure that the catering is well matched to the type of event.
From a simple hog roast / burger van to a four course wedding breakfast the roles of the caterer will vary. Make sure you choose someone suitable for your event and don’t forget you can always ask to see examples of previous events they have catered for.
You will also need to check with both your venue and your caterer to make sure all aspects are covered. Things to consider:
Staff – If the food is being served, whether it be canapés or a meal, who will be serving it? Caterers may provide this service at an additional cost.
Cutlery – Is the venue providing the cutlery, plates, glasses etc.? In some cases you may need to provide these yourself but most of the time between the venue and the cateres you should have this covered.
Disposal – How will the plates, cutlery, food be removed. Like the serving of the food, make sure you have the disposal covered also.
Seating – will your guests be sitting down or standing? How does this affect the sort of food you will serve?
